Amigos_Auroville Earth Institute

O Auroville Earth Institute, com sede na Índia, tem como objectivos a Pesquisa, o Desenvolvimento, Promoção e Transferência de tecnologias baseadas na terra.
Tem neste sentido desenvolvido um trabalho de investigação e construção muito produtivo e com tempos recorde na área das construções com Terra, com realce para obras como a cúpula de Dhyanalinga (PDF) ou a Mesquita Al Medy em Riyadh, na Arábia Saudita.
Com a direcção fundamental do Arquitecto Satprem Maïni (que esteve em Sines em Agosto de 2006 para uma Palestra sobre Construção com Terra Crua e Desenvolvimento) o Auroville Earth Institute tem diversas parcerias com o CRAterre, o ABC Terra no Brasil e com inúmeras ONGs, sendo ainda o representante indiano da Carta da UNESCO "Arquitectura de Terra, Culturas Construtivas e Desenvolvimento Sustentável".

Este post pretende dar a conhecer o seu mais recente trabalho que teve, desta vez, lugar no Nepal.

Dear Friends,

I just finished with local partners the construction in 16 days of a two-classroom school of 97 m2 in Nepal at Jantanagar. This school is a kind of prototype, as the Nepalese ministry of Education wants to build 50,000 classrooms in the next 5 years. We did this for the need of this community of Jantanagar but also to try convincing the Ministry of Education to adopt our technology.

We had a closing ceremony of the construction site with officials and engineers from the ministry of education on the 2nd October. They were convinced and they will try to get approval from their ministry in the next future.
